Maintenance Technician / Mechanic (Greater Indianapolis, IN)

An FDA processing & packaging facility is growing and needs more talented Technicians/Mechanics to join the team on a direct hire basis. As a team member, Technicians/Mechanics maintain, troubleshoot, and repair high-volume food manufacturing equipment, prioritizing personnel and food safety always. An entrepreneurial spirit and out-of-box thinker is needed, to share new ideas & solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Respond & react to mechanical issues in the production environment in a timely & efficiently.
  • Complete maintenance projects - PM tasks and work orders as assigned.
  • Read electrical schematics & mechanical diagrams.
  • Write parts requests, complete work orders, & write corrective work orders
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Perform building inspections & routines
  • Communicate with other team members
  • Perform Lock-Out-Tag-Out when necessary

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years work experience in a maintenance mechanic/technician role within manufacturing (welding, machining, plumbing, pipefitting, electricity.
  • Must have strong mechanical & troubleshooting skills in AC/DC motors, motor control circuits, photo-eyes, sensors, etc. plus experience on conveyance systems.
  • Familiarity with CMMS work order systems
  • Experience working within an FDA-regulated setting is required
  • Must have good attention to detail & be able to understand verbal & written instructions in English
  • Experience reading blueprints & drawings is a necessity
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Must be able to work at heights from ladders or scissor lifts
  • Must be able to work around very strong magnets

Compensation, Shift, & Benefits:

  • Nights 6:00pm-6:00am (48-hour weeks) on a Continental Shift w/a twist
  • $30.25 or $34.75 plus $1.00 shift differential for Level 1 and Level 2 Technicians
