Email Fraud Warning
Beware of hoax or fake job offers from people pretending to be recruiting for Manta Resources
It has come to our attention that various individuals have contacted people offering false employment opportunities with Manta Resources, Inc. (Manta). These propositions notify individuals that their qualifications were found suitable to work as an employee (local or expatriate) for a Manta and solicit money or a facilitation payment to pay for work permits, insurance policies, equiptment, etc.
Manta NEVER asks for any money or payments from applicants at any point in the recruitment process. All individuals who are successful in gaining an offer of employment from Manta, whether directly or indirectly, are always required to go through a formal recruitment process. We do not recruit solely by text message, google hangouts, or email. We always conduct an interview before making a job offer to anyone.
What is Recruitment Fraud?
Recruitment fraud is a sophisticated phishing scam offering fake job opportunities to job seekers. This type of fraud is normally carried out through online services such as Instant messaging, false websites, or through fake emails claiming to be from the company. The scammers often request recipients to provide personal information and to make payments as part of their fake recruiting process.

How to spot Recruitment Fraud
You need to be very careful because sometimes the scammers use the photographs and names of real people in companies and also create fake websites that look very similar to the company’s genuine website in order to commit this type of fraud. You should be very suspicious of anyone who contacts you by email only to offer you a job. These emails will usually have some of the following features:
- Ask for your passport details, or any other personal or financial information.
- Ask you to pay money.
- Tell you to provide the information quickly.
- Provide a mobile telephone number, often starting with +44 (0) 70
- Comes from a Google, Hotmail, Yahoo or other internet hosted account. All our emails will be from @mriweb.com. (Even if it seems to come from our company, don’t use the Reply button but instead type in the address manually. If the address changes then it is likely to be a fraud.)
What to do if you are a victim of a phishing scam
If you receive a job offer by text message or email, that seems to come from Manta, you can check whether the offer is genuine or not by contacting us via our general recruitment email (mail@mriweb.com) or giving us a call at (317) 773-4323. We may ask you to send us further details if required to help investigate any fraudulent offers.
We would also advise you to file a report with the Federal Trade Commission at www.ftc.gov/complaint and provide them with the details of the email.
