Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for identifying opportunities, making recommendations, and managing projects in the area of manufacturing technology. The Manufacturing Engineer will work as part of the New Technology Development Team tasked with executing projects that will improve on and transform production technology with a focus on safety, quality, efficiency and optimized production costs. This position requires cross functional collaboration between R&D, quality, purchasing, and operations.
You will be working for a rapid growing company that is developing many different types of films that have a wide variety of product applications on the cutting edge of advancements in the flexible packaging. The culture is a very collaborative environment with a tight knit team. They are consistently developing new products, and the process engineers are critical in the development of those process in relation to all departments with a unique patented manufacturing process.
Responsibilities:
- Identify strengths and weaknesses of our current manufacturing process
- Stay current on new manufacturing technologies and processes
- Identify and prioritize projects
- Define project scope, objectives and deliverables that support project goals in collaboration with stakeholders and recommend changes when necessary
- Design and conduct experiments, model, and/or prototype to minimize project risks and costs
- Design and recommend new systems for production
- Prepare and present project cost analysis with financial team
- Establish the appropriate cadence for communication to stakeholders on project progress
- Manage projects from opportunity through implementation
Qualifications:
- 10+ years’ combined experience in project management and engineering roles
- B.S. degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering or closely related technical field
- Experience in statistical analysis and experiment design
- Ability to travel
- Ability to read and understand technical prints
- Professional knowledge of process and project engineering concepts, practices, and principles
- Familiarity with EHS and quality (ISO) requirements and risk assessment
- Excellent project management skills and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively organize and run multiple projects
- Experience in lean manufacturing practices/tools
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to understand, interpret and explain project related financial data
- Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
