Shift Supervisor

The 2nd Shift Supervisor is responsible for training associates, coordinating, and executing tasks and performance of shift to meet customer and production requirements, and assures safety and quality procedures are followed and documented as required. The role reports to the Plant Manager and oversees 35-45 associates.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and drive company core values in every area and process.
  • Teamwork/Coaching – consistent management of policies and procedures.
  • Improve shift performance continuing search for ways to reduce overall down time.
  • Train Associates to safety and quality standards. 
  • Communicate professionally and accurately daily goals, SQDC performance.
  • Root Cause analysis and implement sustainable resolutions to repeat errors, safety incidents and performance deficiencies.
  • Listening – Listen and understand concerns of both internal and external customers, and to be able to find solutions to their concerns.
  • Planning and Organizing - Identify areas to expand and improve the utilization of resources.
  • Customer focus - using sound business judgment, provide a timely execution of production requirements. Collaborate with other departments to assess impact on total plant operations.
  • Maintain and implement exceptional housekeeping and sanitization practices in daily tasks and work areas.
  • Address and corrects all safety hazards, unsafe working conditions, abnormal circumstances, accidents, or other problems.
  • Teach / train / mentor others in skill development.
  • Paulson course for plastic processing awareness and utilization of knowledge.
  • Support 6S Concepts and identify opportunities for implementing 6S practice.
  • Understand basic I-Q system.
  • Conduct and maintain a professional shift including maintaining harassment free and nondiscriminatory environment.
  • 90% of time is spent on Production floor. Regularly required to stand, lift, bend, twist, and reach with arms and hands, stoop.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in factory setting.
  • Plastic Processing Experience required.
  • Formal Technical Plastic Processing Training a plus.
  • Competencies:  Safety Awareness, Customer Service Orientation, Teamwork/Collaboration, Quality Orientation/Attention to Detail, Tolerance for Stress, Initiative, Communication, and Motivational Fit.
