Sales Manager

The Sales Manager functions as the Sales representative contact with the customer and vendors and for all commercial issues and general correspondence.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer request for product quotations
  • Develop and provide quotations to customers negotiating highest selling price
  • Negotiate pricing with customers providing logical presentation (PowerPoint, Cost Walks) to support quoted price
  • Solicit and secure quotations for outsourced product from suppliers for Castings, Stampings, Machining, Painting and Assembly negotiating lowest price
  • Manage new product launches
  • Monitor track and coordinate all applicable new Program/Project documentation and deliverables
  • Chair weekly APQP meetings sharing new program launch status timing, cost, and quality concerns; as well as responding to all customer/supplier communication in a timely fashion.
  • Must be able to read blueprints, GD&T and understand technical specifications
  • Handle customer complaints promptly and effectively and report customer issues as appropriate to Sales Team and various other Departments for resolution
  • Manage customer special sample order requirements assuring on time delivery.
  • Partnering with sales, production control, and manufacturing to ensure the on-time delivery of new products.
  • Responsible for managing quarterly raw material price updates, CAFE, AALA, Certificate of Origin reporting, customer tooling inventory audits and customer survey requests.
  • Must be able to manage multiple programs, projects and reporting requirements
  • Manage has 2 direct reports – Product Launch Specialist and Price Specialist
  • Sales Manager Position reports to VP of Administration with dotted line reporting to Japanese Coordinator Sales/PC and Director North American Sales.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree minimum, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2 years quality experience in OEM manufacturing
  • Japanese Language skills desirable but not mandatory
  • Program management

Travel: Must be able to travel up to 10%. Most travel is day trip travel or single night
