Plant Manager

A multi-process national food manufacturing plant is looking for a Plant Manager to oversee a large highly automated facility.

The Plant Manager is a motivating leader that ensures the success of the plants’ total output, employee & product safety, fixed & variable cost, fixed cost productivity, etc.  Flexibility and adaptability to overcome challenges and successfully execute projects on time and on budget.  Having the ability to organize and delegate work, holding others accountable for results assigned, is a must.

Responsibilities:

  • An advocate of change and continued process improvement
  • Champions new ideas and encourages team members to try new approaches to solve key operational issues
  • Enforces compliance and drives accountability with company policies, procedures, and operational standards by effectively communicating expectations and changes to teams
  • Builds and sustains a culture where people are the most important asset - Team members should be engaged, have clear understanding of the Company/Plant Vision, and are valued for their contributions to continuous improvement
  • Makes decisions based on knowledge of the Company, Consumer and Customer needs, organizational impact, and competitive and industry knowledge
  • Full Budgetary responsibility
  • Manages and takes reasonable risks to implement opportunities in order to gain a competitive advantage and meet growth and profit goals
  • Have proven success leading, mentoring, and managing salaried managers, supervisors, and hourly employees

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree required
  • 10+ years of supervisory/leadership experience in Food Processing/Packaging environment
  • Understands and has utilized continuous improvement tools, such as, lean, theory of constraints, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, and/or six sigma
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, HACCP, and food GMPs
  • Proficiency in computer systems (Excel, Word, Outlook, and ERP/BPCS)
