Project Engineer

The Project Engineer position is a hands-on, highly visible role within a growing operations team. This position will provide overall guidance and support in the management of the group’s ongoing projects. From inception to final completion, this role will include all planning, organizing, execution, coordination, and communication of project activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and timelines
  • Ensure adherence to project deadlines
  • Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment
  • Issue purchase orders and track spending
  • Schedule project meetings and record meeting minutes
  • Maintain files of all project documents
  • Oversee new equipment installations and equipment start-up
  • Comply with all laws and regulations
  • Prepare regular project status reports, communicate to management, and recommend actions
  • Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards
  • Manage various capital and ad-hoc projects
  • Liaison between vendors, contractors, and suppliers

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in a Project Engineer or Project Coordinator role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong written and verbal skills (English)
  • Ability to travel
  • Experience with building expansion projects and new equipment installations
  • Can operate in the technical and management arenas
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read and understand technical prints
  • Professional knowledge of process and project engineering concepts and practices
  • Understanding of safety policies, protocol, and risk assessment
  • Strong problem solving/troubleshooting ability
  • Detail Oriented
  • Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner
  • Capable of working independently or as a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Power Point and Access
