Extrusion Supervisor 3rd Shift

The Shift Supervisor oversees the production activities of 3rd shift production cells.

  • Managers are responsible for:  Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Morale through coaching their team leads and associates.
  • Build processes that improve efficiency and quality
  • Track metrics for production and quality
  • Monitor safety practices
  • Implement SOPs and coach team members in the discipline of following procedures
  • Oversee Daily Production by monitoring workload and metrics for daily production goals
  • Develop teamwork, leadership, and accountability through checklists
  • Develop teams that are engaged and looking for opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Respond to on-floor needs and solve problems by looking for the root cause
  • Apply Lean Thinking to teamwork and processes (waste, flow, level work, etc.)
  • Manage personnel including company policies, and counseling as needed, etc.
  • Communicate regularly with managers concerning production goals and issues
  • Collaborate with other departments to support company growth
  • Create and implement SOPs for each phase of the department’s process

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Proven experience as an effective production leader with excellent organization and leadership skills

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Hazard Communication Training
  • Forklift certification
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Knowledge of Lean Management/manufacturing principles

Reports to
Fabrication Manager

Supervisory Responsibility
This position supervises the Fabrication teams on 3rd shift

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, requiring 40-50 hours per week. Typical days and hours of work are Sunday Night through Friday Morning, 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. 

Travel
Travel between local sites is required. Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Valid Driver’s license to drive between local sites is required.
