Die Setter (2nd Shift)

An innovative plastic injection molding company is looking for Die Setters working either 1st or 2nd shifts. They have three factories in Michigan yet each facility maintains a small "mom and pop" family culture. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Set and Pull molds according to established procedures.
  • Load programs for Robots and Machines.
  • Removes auxiliary equipment and clean around machines.
  • Communicates with manager, shift supervisor, quality assurance, toolroom and maintenance about any problems that may exist related to specific department.
  • Keeps all areas within responsibility neat, clean and organized at all times.
  • Maintains compliance with company safety, housekeeping, rules and procedures to help maintain a safe, healthy work environment.
  • Reports to molding supervisor and manufacturing manager.
  • Operates various equipment, including forklift, hand truck, and hoist in order to move molds or equipment from one location to another.
  • Work with hand tools.
  • Complete all required paperwork: work orders, start-up check sheets, etc.
  • Maintain the SMED work area
  • Maintain and organize molds locations and log.
 
Qualifications:
  • High School or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Prior Mold Setting experience a plus.
  • Possesses the technical and mechanical skills to set and pull mold. Required skills level obtained through on-the-job training.
  • Skills to start and persist with specific course of action while exhibiting high motivation and a sense of urgency, willing to commit to long hours of work in order to reach goals, working with little or no supervision.
  • Substantial interpersonal skills for effective communication and interaction with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
