Project Engineer

Our team has been engaged by a unique innovator of a revolutionary new HVAC product and we are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with strong Mechanical or Electrical Engineering skills to join them and steer the product through Design for Manufacturability, Production Launch, and Optimization of all processes and test/approval systems. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop manufacturing engineered systems for a lean mfg. process flow
  • Design test & assembly fixtures
  • Develop the manufacturing process flow maps, line balancing, work instructions, control charts, material pull systems, and all visual factor process monitoring boards.
  • Write the equipment preventative, corrective, and TPM procedures & make necessary repairs
  • Create layouts using CAD; install manufacturing equipment for optimized lean flow
  • Use precise measuring tools (micrometers, air gages, dial bore gages, dial indicators, calipers, CMM, OGP, and laser type measuring devices) and properly operate all equipment
  • Conduct product failure analysis, & DFM analysis for low cost, highest quality production
  • Use precision electrical instruments like Fluke-meters, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies
  • Specify production automation robotics, welders, and precision measurement machines

 

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required (M.S. preferred)
  • Two or more years of manufacturing process engineering experience
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude related to complex systems
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of CAD software to create mechanical and electrical prints/layouts
  • Trained in Lean Six Sigma methodologies and can obtain LSS Green/Blackbelt ASQ certification
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods, material properties, tooling/tolerance requirements,
