What does the General Manager do?

The General Manager’s responsibilities will encompass this DC’s productivity, HR, maintenance, transportation, operations, engineering, community relations, and P/L for a multi-million dollar budget. My client operates a 500K Sq Ft facility running multiple shifts in a store support environment. The facility will strictly be store support, and will support lower store square footages, and therefore a higher amount of stores. Total staff for the facility is in excess of 300.

 

What kind of background do I need for this role?

The qualified candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 3+ years of General Management experience in an automated big box distribution center.
  • Documented experience building strong teams in a diverse, non-union environment.
  • Proven ability to lead through change management.
  • Previous experience retrofitting or upgrading WMS, WCS, or LMS software and MHE.
  • Experience with either Red Prairie/JDA or High Jump Warehouse Management Systems
